I met a senior officer through community work who charmed me into a casual affair. I was a willing participant initially but when I said it was over, he raped me. He said he would decide when it would be over, not me. There was no point reporting it, he said I would never be believed and he would ensure my reputation would be trashed. I subsequently found out he had a history of this behaviour. He also claimed that when posted to his previous station that he would arrange for sex workers to be “rounded up” and then released without charge if they gave him and other officers on his team free oral sex. He considered it a perk of the night shift and was proud of this “team building exercise” He was allowed to resign from the Met even though several misconduct charges were outstanding.
