Shielding in what felt like a prison home controlled by a previous neighbour, we couldn’t escape. Infatuated, deluded and persistent, the offender sent 9 Valentine’s Day cards, over 20 teddy bears, bras, knickers, sleazy underwear. Hanging strings of huge hearts above my garden wall. His kitchen window looked into our back garden where he filmed us, whilst waiting at his other window incase we walked a different route. I open my back door to hear the creak of his opening. Starting a conversation over a 5 foot wall like it was normal. Saying he loves me and my son-he doesn’t even know me. Cctv of him threatening me in front of my young son, traumatising my son so he doesn’t eat for months. Calls me a white slut when his love is not reciprocated, we weren’t even friends!! All started because I refused to go to his house for a drink, he then sees me and gets a bottle of alcohol and tells me to get a straw so he can stick it down my throat. Catches me coming out my door, gropes my breast like its normal, I go inside as fast as I can. Food parcels stolen from my doorstep that we relied on when shielding. Piles of dog poo gathered by my doors (he didn’t even have a dog!).
Police took 11 months to arrest him knowing he sexually assaulted me, traumatised us both leading to PTSD. Even after the failures of allowing escalating incidents, police lie about viewing and adding my cctv which showed a prolonged campaign of abuse. “We have just enough for a conviction of harassment” So they refused to look at all evidence. STALKING 4a was the appropriate charge, and according to investigational procedures you need all evidence before charging, this didn’t happen but they were more than happy they arrested and charged him within the same day. Diary logs of over 80 incidents, attended police station over 5 times, over 20 call outs. Breached bail with my proof of him filming me leaving our home. Shouting mother f@£&3r through my window IN FRONT of officers that knew he was on bail. I contacted CPS who said police chose harassment as charge, CPS agreed with the evidence that it’s stalking. Emails show police say they contacted CPS several times to change the charge to stalking but this was false. Bail breaches weren’t addressed or added to the case file, signed blanked medical forms “went missing” in police investigation department. I have a recording of an officer saying the offender WON’T get a custodial sentence. I was coached in an email by a [senior rank redacted]. My views on a restraining order weren’t asked. This all led to the case only going to magistrates court, if all evidence was added, would’ve gone to the crown court to receive years, for putting a vulnerable disabled lady and young son through years of hell that we couldn’t escape. He received maximum in the magistrates, 6 months, serving 3. He had no previous but received the maximum. Restraining order he’s not allowed on my street, but legally can watch from across the road and this is supposed to keep us safe.
The [senior rank redacted] knew protocols hadn’t been followed but didn’t override the permission for the stalking SPOC to review the case. He allowed a failed investigation and the [redacted for legal reasons] who’s his friend won’t hold him accountable. My complaint wasn’t upheld, it was investigated and completed by the corrupt officers superior- [senior rank redacted] who lied on the report and took credit for my efforts and also for the conviction which didn’t actually reflect the seriousness of the crimes. Me telling them their investigational procedures led to me being told that “crazy women like me can’t tell police how to do their job “ by [senior rank and name redacted]. Psd apologised for Beds police allowing further incidents and is a learning recommendation as not one sole person was responsible for the failings.
Asking [redacted for legal reasons] for answers I was blocked on twitter. [name redacted] refused to look at emails proving misconduct by [8 officers (7 male, 1 female), names and ranks (incl. senior) all redacted]. Superiors completing complaints won’t hold officers accountable, this goes against complaints procedures. Justice denied. Duty of care failed. Community PCSO’s did more to help us than the crime investigation department. Thank you to the community policing.
