Last year I went out for my friends birthday and we went clubbing. Afterwards I was walking up and down the road looking for a right spot to book my Uber, when I was walking past two male officers.
One of the officers gave me a very sexualised look up and down whilst I was walking. It was very sexual (all women know what it’s like to have men stare at them in a sexualised way or giving them ‘the look’). I recently turned 21, so this happened to me when I was 20.
When it happened, I didn’t think it was wrong, but now that I think back I know it was really inappropriate to see male officers stare longingly, sexually and quite aggressively at women on a night out whilst wearing a short dress and inebriated. That happened to me, god knows what has happened to other women.
I’ve never told anyone, but now this is my time.
