A PC aged 33 at the time, married into the family. I was a teenager, 14. There were a lot of red flags that couldn’t really be read by someone so young. Sometimes there would be other police officers around & they would make weird comments about my body & stuff. The women didn’t make it any better by turning it into some weird carry on film situation by referring to male police officers by saying things like “watch out for that one Lucy” wink wink, or when I’d walk in the room “calm down lads” and laughing. I was so uncomfortable all the time.
I would spend time with the officer and his wife (my relative) at their house, I’d stay for weekends sometimes. They let me have a couple of drinks one night, The PC took me into the kitchen to pick a drink & he put his dirty, disgusting lips on me, he did it a couple of times before I managed to get away. I didn’t say anything to my relative and I remember thinking who the hell do I tell, the police? They are the police!!! Luckily I had a very good friend who I did tell, I couldn’t tell my family either. I did not think I would be believed at all, and if I told them and wasn’t believed my life would of been a living hell. But I did tell my friend and then I made it clear to this PC that I had told my friend luckily he left me alone from then, i was probably too much risk. I never went to their house again, they were over a few months later. Still haunts me too this day.
