HannahC | You can’t make it up….

I was arrested in 2022 after asking for help twice because of what someone had done to me, from two different forces and was ignored. In custody, I was taunted and treated horrifically by the custody staff. They mocked me, turned my call button off so I couldn’t get water and played psychological games. I was held unnecessarily for 14 hours and mocked by police staff that there was so much evidence to go through.

They lied and said I didn’t hand over the pin to my phone despite me giving it to two sets of officers and it being on CCTV. (The cctv has since been deleted, what a coincidence). I submitted a complaint straight after and it was ignored for 3 months until I asked them why nobody had contacted me.

When I went to court, the officer in charge submitted fake evidence! Basically pulled anything from my phone with the individuals name and submitted it without checking it….. it is laughable because the person I was talking to was a different person but had the same name. How is this not checked?? I hope the police conduct team throw the book at all of the officers involved.

The other force I submitted a complaint against (Gwent) lied and pretended I hadn’t reported a crime to them and then backtracked after saying they didn’t remember the conversation to suddenly making up lies about what was actually said! When my laptop was seized, the custody sergeant told me to lie and say it was stolen and to give a fake crime number.

I tried to end my life because of it and the police turned up and even had the audacity to ask if I could go back to the van because it was cold.

Honestly, the police are a bunch of uneducated thugs who I wouldn’t trust as far as I could throw them. They lie, they don’t take your crimes seriously that you report and they treat you worse than an animal in custody…. I am still traumatised. Oh…..and when you do get charged the police don’t bother to send the paperwork. I guess the reason the aptitude tests are so easy to get in says it all……
