I was in an abusive relationship for 8 years when the police were called to my home. The officer who came out asked me out that day and I said no as I had just gotten out of a relationship. He then came back in plain clothes and told me I had forgotten to sign his pocket note book and provide contact details. 1 or 2 weeks later he rang me asking me out and kept pursuing me. I agreed to go on a date with him and he then kept telling me to move in with him and I became pregnant and I had a son in 2012. The relationship was not going good he cheated on me several times while I was pregnant including with my twin sister. I moved out not long after my son was born. He kept mithering me to get back together, I got my home with my son in 2013 and he would turn up with his colleagues and hand me money over in police van so I would look like a police grass on the council estate which would result in fireworks being thrown at my address and people urinating through my letter box and the officer would say move back in with me you will never be safe! He would buy me wine and because I was stressed I would drink and then he would ring the police on me and lie saying he has turned up and I was drunk with my son all the while he would be there. He even turned family members against me. He assaulted me one night while I was supposed to be having supervised visits although he never stuck to this because he knew I could care for my son and he left me in the hotel room so he could go and drink and then he came back and attacked me he got arrested and charged and his inspector rang me and told me to drop the charges or he will rip my son out of my arms. Police just fobbed me off in 2013 when I went in to complain then in 2018 the anti corruption police came out and said they wanted me to make a statement I did but then the police officer kept harassing me to never talk to them and I was too scared as he kept threatening me and threatened to take my son away. When my son was visiting him he beat my son bad and left bruises and a handprint mark again this was reported to police but again they never took it seriously and we had a marac meeting and my son’s headteacher told me the police and children’s services were conspiring against me. He also repeated this in a meeting with social worker. The police officer resigned before he was sacked and social services and the courts gave him custody of our son! Because of my mental health which obviously had deteriorated during all this and I have now been diagnosed with complex PTSD he now still after all these years controls my life and I honestly wish I had never let him in that day. He has turned my son against me and I hardly leave my home due to anxiety and panic attacks he was found guilty for sharing my data at court but the police are still denying liability and I have given up with children’s services I have no faith in the system whatsoever.
