I am a victim of DV. My husband abuses me then calls the police and claims that I am the one abusing him. I have been arrested 4 times over the past 3 years since meeting him for things I have not done. The police dont listen to my cries that I am the victim and the reason I can’t call for help first is because he takes my phone off me but always ensures to throw it back when the police are at the door. Prior to meeting my husband I had no criminal record at all and had no idea what a cell even looked like. I’m tired, my husband is twice my size and I just dont understand how the police always believe him over me. I am trapped in such a life of misery and darkness and the police encourage his behaviour by constantly taking me away and leaving him free reign to clear our joint account and steal my belongings
